St. Paul’s Home was a recent beneficiary of LaSalle High School staff members who wanted to “walk the walk.”
In their roles at LaSalle, they encourage the students-driven “Truck Full of Love” Canned Food Drive which supports local organizations including Little Sisters of the Poor.
But they also realized it’s not enough to urge students to live a life of service – they needed to “walk the walk” themselves. And so they spent a day at Little Sisters of the Poor helping to sort through and organize contributions of canned goods and other food items used to feed our residents.
As we recently celebrated the first anniversary of the Papal inauguration of Pope Francis, the LaSalle staff members served as visible reminder of the Pope’s call to put into action Christian words.
We are grateful for the example set by the LaSalle staff for their students – and for all of us.
I pray, Lord that you may be evident in the way I talk and act.
LaSalle Staff heed Pope’s call to “Walk the Walk”
