2018: the Year of the Dog

  • February 16, 2018

The Chinese New Year celebration begins February 16. We are celebrating the Year of the Dog February 17 with good food and entertainment.

Our celebration of the Chinese New Year began last year with the Year of the Rooster. Sr. Dora, with her rich Chinese tradition, wanted to share her culture with the Residents and guests of our Home.

Are you a dog? Recent years of the dog include: 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, 2018. If you were born in any of the preceding years you are a dog!

  • Honest and loyal, dogs are the truest friends and most reliable partner
  • Popular in socal circles, great at helping others find and fix habits
  • Worried and anxious despite their great qualities
  • Lucky colors include green, red, and purple
  • Lucky numbers include 3, 4, and 9
  • Avoid blue and brown as well as 1, 7, and 8

Stay tuned for pictures and video from the event.
