How to Stay Warm during the Winter

  • February 2, 2018

Today, February 2, is Groundhog Day and Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow, predicting another six weeks of winter. Time to bundle up and endure another six cold weeks. Here are some tips from our Residents and Staff on how to stay warm!

I am a cold one, always cold but I have a warm heart. I suggest to wear extra layers of clothes, I always do! ~ Kitty Stickley, Resident

Don’t go outside. Stay inside where it is warm. ~ Tony Bell, Housekeeping Supervisor

I have two things to say about staying warm: #1 I believe in drinking instead of medicine and #2 I like to drink! ~ Marge Welage, Resident

Drink good whiskey! ~ Archbishop Pilarczyk, Resident

Grab lots of blankets and cuddle with your loved ones! ~ Debbie Gall, Housekeeper

I once heard you should put a large cabbage leaf underneath your cap and it will keep you warm in the winter! ~ Sr. Mary John

Find yourself a cozy hat! I like the ones with the ear flaps called a “trapper” hat. It is big and usually fluffy and keeps me warm. ~ Sarah Steffen, Community Relations Coordinator
