On her most recent visit to St. Paul’s Home, Mother Provincial Loraine Marie Clare joined us in celebrating the Feast of the Guardian Angels. She also made a gift of a Guardian Angel pin to each Resident and staff member with the message: “If you seek an angel with an open heart, you shall always find one.”
Devotion to angels is, at base, an expression of faith in God’s enduring love and providential care extended to each person day in and day out until life’s end. And we are grateful to Mother Provincial for her gift to us.
Residents and staff in return performed a play especially written for Mother Provincial. The story featured Sr. George as Jeanne Jugan conversing in heaven with the angels about the activities at St. Paul’s Home including Mother Provincial’s visit and the special entertainment to mark the occasion – Elvis Presley impersonator and tribute artist Mike Davis.
It was a joyful day with many laughs, hugs, and smiles, reminding everyone present that it takes all of us together to make a happy home; the residents, staff, volunteers, family members, the Little Sisters, and all of our guardian angels.
