Cookies, pies, cakes, soufflés, casseroles, you name it, we will make it. At least twice a month the residents come together to make some of their favorite sweets and treats from years past. Baking is a regular activity we began for residents to enjoy.
We have many bakers and cooks living here at the home, so everything we have ventured to make has been phenomenal so far. And much to our surprise we have yet to make the same thing twice. Once we begin cooking, those who can be named the “tasters” start arriving. These are the folks who avoid the kitchen until the aroma of our good cooking hits the hallways. After the smell hits their noses they trickle in to see what we have to offer.
One of the best parts of our time in the kitchen comes from chatting and reminiscing with the residents who have come to help. Well, and of course licking the spoon isn’t such an awful part of the deal either. Overall we love
our time spent in the kitchen helping one another create the next edible masterpiece!
