Christmas is a day to celebrate the birth of our savior, Jesus Christ. All too often we get wrapped up in the festivities of the season and forget to stop and remember why we celebrate Christmas. It is the beginning of the story of God’s love for us through the sacrifice of His only son. We share in the festivities of the season through parties, crafts, decorations, gifts, and music, but most of all we take the time to remember the true meaning of Christmas.
Residents, staff, volunteers, and Sisters were asked, what does Christmas mean to you?
“People have forgotten that Christmas is a Holy day. It is a day to celebrate the birth of the third part of the trinity.” ~Mary Emma, Resident
“Thinking of others before yourself.” ~ Sr. Mary John
“Jesus is the Reason for the Season. Don’t get me wrong, I love spending time with my family, friends, and our Residents while eating all kinds of good food and giving gifts. But, God gave us the best gift of all – Jesus! Happy birthday Jesus!” ~ Mandy, Activity Director
“Christmas means that it is Jesus’ birthday!” ~Kitty, Resident
“Bah-humbug! I am a scrooge, no but really Christmas is a good day.” ~Hedy, Resident
