April is national volunteer month. We have over fifty volunteers that help us regularly. Some donate their time weekly and others are able to help out at events throughout the year. We are blessed to have such wonderful support from our volunteers. Read the experience of Subha Krishnamurthi, a volunteer of our Home. When she is living in the United States she comes weekly to help care for the Residents at breakfast and dinner.
“I feel highly blessed and privileged to be involved with the Little Sisters of the Poor. The great Saints have said that selfless service is a way to reach God. My father often reflected on his experiences and shared that he found immense peace and mental satisfaction in humble service to others. His insights have deeply influenced me and I feel grateful that the Little Sisters of the Poor provides me with opportunities for service and ways to experience deep joy.
I am inspired by the genuine and dedicated service provided by the Sisters, nurse aides, volunteers, and all those who work here. When I spend time with the Residents, staff, or volunteers, I dwell in a realm of absolute peace, respect, and dignity. I look forward to coming into the Home and staying involved. Ultimately I am grateful with God for bestowing this connection and blessing through the Little Sisters of the Poor; which is a source of supreme love and joy. I pray that I can share and spread this blessing.“
