
Mr. Jay Almon, employee of St. Paul’s Home since June 1980, is this year’s recipient of the Jeanne Jugan Award.
Candidates for this esteemed award are nominated by their co-workers. The award recognizes individuals who exemplify the spirit of Jeanne Jugan, demonstrate the core value of the Little Sisters, and embody a work ethic of humble service to the Residents of the home.
In his nearly 35 year history with the home, Jay – the gentle giant – Residents, employees and visitors to the home have noted his compassion, patience, work ethic and positive attitude. In addition to the Jeanne Jugan Award, Jay also received in 2006 the AOPHA Stars Award (Association of Philanthropic Housing and Services for the Aging, now known as LeadingAge Ohio.)
Jay has a son, Jordan and daughter, Brittany, and one granddaughter. When not working at LSP Jay does cleaning and yard work for his neighbors and also enjoys bowling.
