On Saturday, September 12th, we joyfully celebrated the gift of family during our annual Family picnic. It was a day to invite friends and family of residents and employees to share with them the Sister’s vow of hospitality. With the help of our dedicated volunteers, a family style cook out was provided for all, along with music, games for the kids, and the opportunity to mingle with one another. Many stories and laughs were shared; the rain had no deterrent in us sharing a beautiful day together.
“When I come to work and clock in at the Little Sisters, I feel as if I am walking into my home and treat it as such. I am here to serve the residents as my own family.” Tyron from the Kitchen
“I have no immediate family near to me. I invited two friends from my Parish to the family picnic. We had a ball, laughing, talking, and enjoying the food. It’s a blessing and I keep thanking the good lord for the friends who visit me.” Evelyn Hamlin, 3rd floor Resident
Here at the Little Sisters on Riddle Road, we call all here family. You are invited to join us in our mission of hospitality. There are residents here that need a loving friend, just like Evelyn. If you feel you are being called to share your love, or need some love yourself, we welcome you.
“Give us the house—if God fills it, God will not abandon it!” St. Jeanne Jugan
