It’s that time of year again … our Annual Family Picnic! As per tradition, we had our Residents, Staff, and their families over for a picnic the weekend after Labor Day. We always have a huge crowd, and this year was no exception! Over 400 people came and played games, listened to some good music, ate ‘til they were full, and got to catch up on what’s going on with the Little Sisters.
Our kids got to play games, get their faces painted, and picked their own prizes this year. It was a big hit to get to play games and save up your tickets to get a bigger prize! Our adults got to play Split the Pot, where the winner gets ½ the Pot and the Home gets the other half. This year’s winner was 6th floor Resident Bonnie Greene’s brother!
Our kitchen staff and volunteers worked hard grillin’ up our favorites and making sure we all filled our bellies with good food, drinks, and desserts like cake and watermelon.
And who could forget our music! We had 2 musicians keep us entertained with keyboard and drums. It made the outdoors seem just that much more pleasant. Thank you to Max and Danny!
Many thanks need to be said … Thank you to our volunteers who ran games, filled food trays, helped Residents get their plates, grilled our meats, and filled our cups. Thank you to all the staff who worked hard to put this event together! Thank you to all the family members who brought in desserts and drinks to share – we wouldn’t have had enough without your donations!
We hope all who attended had a great time! God blessed us with a beautiful day to enjoy with everyone!
