We were blessed with tickets to a Cincinnati Reds game this past week. Fourteen of our residents were able to go down to the Great American Ballpark to watch our team pull off an impressive win against the New York Mets. With the recent change in season, the night air was more frigid than we have been used to, but we just bundled up in blankets and coats.
One of our centennial residents, Bill, who is 103 years old, was able to go. He has been a Reds fan since he was six-years-old, so this was an exciting time for him. He was blessed with many visits including, the spirit team, Rosie Red, and Jim Day! But Bill wasn’t the only one who had fun! A couple residents, sisters, and staff were projected onto the Jumbo-Tron during the game!
We stuck it out for the entire game even though it went into extra innings. We needed only one more inning to bring in one more run to win the game. Overall we were chilly, tired, and exhausted, but we would and hopefully will do it again!
Thank you to Mr. Castellini, the Reds owner, who donated the tickets because yet again we had a blast down at the ballpark!
Root, Root, Root for the Home Team!
