This year’s soggy weather didn’t dampen our spirits or our resolve to hold our annual celebration and picnic for Independence Day. Weather will not stop us from honoring our freedom’s and our liberty. After a Mass where we remembered all of our God-given rights and the greatest freedom – to live our faith, we all met again in the auditorium for our picnic.
Our loyal, courageous grillers came out in full force wearing jackets and ponchos underneath umbrellas to grill our hot dogs and hamburgers out on our patio. Even being soaked by a deluge of rain, their smiles shone through… Our faithful kitchen staff prepared the other traditional picnic side dishes, like corn on the cob, baked beans, and potato salad, along with cupcakes and watermelon for dessert and brought everything up to our auditorium for our picnic.
The Residents were all decked out in their best Red, White, and Blue … wearing jackets, coordinating pants and skirts, hats, shirts, scarves, or just flowers in their hair!
All in all, a good time was had by all. God bless America!
Independence Day Celebration!
